The last trip to WDW also involved a four night Disney cruise to the Bahamas & Disney's island, Castaway Cay. I highly recommend the cruise if you ever have some extra $$ you wanna spend! Couples were even going without kids (cruise)! Enjoy your trip whenever it is!Louisehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12019845324032320693noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1676466227351924583.post-7435959331436062562008-01-07T22:59:00.000-08:002008-01-07T22:59:00.000-08:00Hi Sherri,Well this "myth" was told to me by a cas...Hi Sherri,
Well this "myth" was told to me by a cast member. She was sitting with us (she was a member of the Year of a Million Dreams team) while we were waiting for the fireworks and telling us all sorts of Disney trivia. Not sure why she would outright lie to our faces but that's exactly what she told us and that she had been inside it.

Thanks for "lurking" around my blog!Dawnellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06367336693142215784noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1676466227351924583.post-3513851994781118632007-12-03T23:22:00.000-08:002007-12-03T23:22:00.000-08:00Hi it's sherri froc I've been lurking on your blog...Hi it's sherri froc I've been lurking on your blog and I wonder if this is true...I googled this question & answer....Kari writes:

I was reading some of the old questions that people have asked you. There was one in particular that interested me. Someone asked about the basketball court in the Matterhorn, and you said Cast Members put it there for breaks. When I went to Disneyland I was told Walt Disney put it there because he couldn't get a permit to build a mountain, but he could get one to build a gym, so he built the Matterhorn around the basketball court. I wonder if that is correct or not. It does make sense. Thank you.

Hi Kari!

Don't believe everything you hear. The best Urban Legends are the ones that sound like they could be feasible, like this one.

The truth is, the Matterhorn was built in 1959, and the city of Anaheim didn't have any building regulations that restricted building height (like for a mountain, for instance) until the 1970s. Besides that, there are plenty of hotels surrounding Disneyland that are taller than the Matterhorn, including the towers of the Disneyland Hotel. The "gym" story, which is also known as the "sports arena" story, is a myth. The tiny little court was put there by bored Matterhorn climbers to give them something to do in their off-times.

Another Disney myth bites the dust!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1676466227351924583.post-28573446055166309712007-10-15T10:43:00.000-07:002007-10-15T10:43:00.000-07:00glad to see another entry on your blog ... i was s...glad to see another entry on your blog ... i was starting to wonder if facebook had consumed all your blog update time.kfroesehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03064780484355020912noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1676466227351924583.post-57555559499686413932007-10-15T00:03:00.000-07:002007-10-15T00:03:00.000-07:00Good blog entry!
